I acknowledge the Kaurna people as the custodians of the lands and waters where I live and work. I pay my respect to the Elders, past, present and emerging.
In a moment of introspection and deep reflection, I find myself captivated by the golden hour light laying into my little “Hobbit hole.” A sanctuary I carved out for “me, myself and I” where sunlight paints the walls in warm hues, creating a enchanted atmosphere. Everything feels still yet vibrant, with a invigorating and peaceful energy.
This isn’t just a photo collection with pretty pictures. It is a milestone after all “blood, sweat and tears” spilled while I was defending my new and audacious pathway in life. I was dormant, like a seed buried too deep, waiting for its time. This golden light represents the first breath of spring after a long winter, filling me like a tiny sprout pushing through the earth. I wanted to bottle, preserve, and carry its magic warmth. It is the beginning of a new chapter, a sign that I am finally going to flourish again, bringing the deep colours acquired after continuous life flourishes. My “Hobbit hole”, my sanctuary, had become the testimony and the fertile ground for my awakening.
This collection was awarded as Best Collection by Inspiration Photographers – February 2025.
