Dr Marcella Meneguello is an Educator and Researcher committed to actively bridging the gap between academic knowledge and the real world, driving meaningful social change. Drawing upon over two decades of interdisciplinary experience and grounded in a biopsychosocial approach, she explores the complexities of human conditions, focusing on fostering cultural awareness and promoting health and wellbeing through art-creative activities and physical exercise across the lifespan.
Passionate about education and empowerment through knowledge, Marcella has devoted a significant portion of her career to higher education. She uses inclusive, creative and reflective learning practices by employing a dialogical and student-centred approach, having taught students from diverse cultures, areas and backgrounds. She is currently a lecturer in the Community Services Bachelor’s Course at Torrens University Australia, where, beyond lecturing in the health and research nucleos, she is a Subject Coordinator of the Diversity and Inclusion subject.
As a researcher, Dr Meneguello utilises the transformative power of Photovoice—a method that aligns closely with her core values of education, amplifying minority voices, raising awareness, and fostering critical consciousness. Through her involvement with the Social Justice Research Network (SJRN)she applies this methodology to explore the cultural adaptation experiences of Brazilian and Latin American migrants in South Australia. Guided by her commitment to social impact and challenging stereotypes, she has collaborated with a group of First Nations entrepreneurs to amplify the visibility of their entrepreneurial narratives — creating space for stories that deserve to be seen, heard, and remembered.
